What Is SkinPen Microneedling?

SkinPen Microneedling is a collagen-induction therapy that uses fine, medical-grade needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This kickstarts your body’s natural healing process, encouraging collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture, tone, and firmness—without the downtime of more invasive treatments.

How Does Microneedling Work?

During your SkinPen treatment, a specialized device is glided across the skin to create tiny microchannels. These micro-injuries trigger your skin’s wound-healing response, promoting cell turnover and new collagen production. A soothing serum is applied post-treatment to support healing and enhance results. Most patients notice improvement in skin quality within a few weeks, with continued benefits over time.

Microneedling FAQs

  • For best results, we typically recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart. After that, maintenance treatments every 3–6 months can help keep your skin smooth, firm, and glowing.

  • Before your treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied to minimize any discomfort. Most people describe the sensation as a mild prickling or buzzing feeling. The treatment is quick and very tolerable!

  • You may experience redness, mild swelling, or a tight feeling for the first 24–48 hours—similar to a sunburn. Most people return to normal activities within a day or two. You’ll be given specific aftercare instructions to help your skin heal quickly and beautifully.

  • You’ll likely notice an overall refreshed glow within the first week, with continued improvements in tone, texture, and firmness over the next 4–6 weeks as collagen production increases. Scarring and deeper concerns may take multiple treatments to see full improvement.

  • Microneedling is a more advanced treatment and isn’t included in our monthly facial membership, but many members choose to alternate between facials and microneedling for the best long-term results. You do receive 15% off microneedling if you are a member of our facial membership.
